Man Like Him

“He was made like his brothers

_                in every way.”_

With awe and joy I read.

_My humble yet exalted priest  _

_                Who, every day,_

Hears me as I plead.

_ _

_Then thought of “Lamb slain _

_                before earth's foundation,”_

Brings pause over Holy Writ.

Another shining facet

_                Of salvation_

Warms this heart further yet.

_ _

“Not only was the Lord

_                Made like me_

Except without sin," I ponder.

“We were first formed as the man

_                He would be.”_

A wonder upon a wonder!

_ _

So true God-Man, seated

_                at the right,       _

with love that will never dim,

Meets with pity believers

_                He became like,_

So they can be man like Him._ _
