Jesus knows! Yes He really does know!

As I reflected in my daily devotions on how much Jesus knew about the woman with the 'issue of blood', I was truly blown away by the details of His omniscience.

Even during His earthly ministry, when His divine will and nature, by the Holy Spirit, communicated this lady's fact-file to His human consciousness, Mark makes it evident, that he knew her case history completely, in 5:25-3 (E.S.V.):

**"And there was a woman who had had a discharge of blood for twelve years, and who had suffered much under many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was no better but rather grew worse. She had heard the reports about Jesus and came up behind him in the crowd and touched his garment. For she said, "If I touch even his garments, I will be made well." And immediately the flow of blood dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of her disease. And Jesus, perceiving in himself that power had gone out from him, immediately turned about in the crowd and said, "Who touched my garments?" And his disciples said to him, "You see the crowd pressing around you, and yet you say, 'Who touched me?'" And he looked around to see who had done it. But the woman, knowing what had happened to her, came in fear and trembling and fell down before him and told him the whole truth. And he said to her, "Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace, and be healed of your disease." **

Think about it for a minute....

He knew about her sickness - 12 years of unremitting gynecological hemorrhage!

He knew her shyness - she did not want these details disclosed in public, hence her approach under the cover of the crowd!

He knew her shame - this bleeding from her womb made her ceremonially unclean: he knew the isolation she felt so remote from public worship.

He knew her poverty - she'd shelled out the shekels to every specialist she could find on the medical merry-go-round and now she was struggling financially to try to make ends meet.

He knew her hopelessness - all her money spent but the medics had no cure: Christ knew her despair as she cast all her hope on one she had no doubt heard, and now believed, was able to heal.

He knew her plan - the thoughts she had in her innermost heart as she had words with herself about touching the hem of his garment.

He knew her faith - that one tiny touch on the remotest part of Christ would obtain the salvation she sought from this glorious person in whom resided divine power; that there was nothing too hard for God who was at work in the Nazarene; that Jesus was a mighty healer of both hemorrhages and hearts.

He knew her relief - that power had gone out, and that the woman, in an instant, realized she had been remarkably, and miraculously, saved.

He knew her secrecy - she was happy to go home without making any fuss, content in the knowledge that Christ had made her whole: so he calls the woman out, not for his benefit but to testify to her, the disciples, and Jairus, and to glorify God.

He knew her role - 12 years bleeding stopped will now fortify Jairus' faith, whose daughter of 12 years has now one foot in the grave: her testimony to God's goodness and grace, will cause many more to give thanks, and another miracle of Christ's power to be wrought that very day.

Her fact-file was complete in the mind of Jesus Christ. He knew absolutely every detail about her life, history, case, thoughts, condition, temperament, person, desires, hopes, fears - and this smallest act of desperate yet deep faith, that would be the saving of the woman, both body and soul.

In fact, Jesus knew about this woman from the foundation of the world. The very faith she exercised was faith that the Father had ordained, the Son volunteered to purchase, and the Spirit gladly applied: this gift of faith that would unite her savingly to himself, and seize upon its object, Christ, in every tiny thought, act and trusting of that faith.

Child of God! Believer in Jesus! Blood-bought Christian! Is it any different with you? Does the Savior not know your fact-file through and through? Your faith may be weak! Your trust may be frail! Yet this is God's gift, to bring blessing to your soul! He knows every time when he's going to cross your path with grace through faith!

Nobody else may know of your inner conversations, or of your sense of desperation when you have nowhere else to turn; but Jesus knows, He really fully knows, and your Savior takes great delight in seeing you think, watching you act, putting out a trembling hand, to lay hold of Him, the mighty glorious Christ, in faith!

Come to Him, cry to Him, pray to Him, but above all trust Him, and when you obtain mercy, rejoice to go away in peace, for this gift of faith has made you whole in Christ!
