GenRef Update

_Gentle Reformation _is still in its first year as a multi-author blog dedicated to "speaking the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ in its many applications through the media of the internet in a style that is pastoral and persuasive rather than polemical and pejorative."  We are grateful and humbled by those who faithfully read GenRef, our fellow like-hearted bloggers who have encouraged us, and the steady increase of interest we have seen.  Though we rarely use the blog to talk about the blog, preferring instead to focus on content, I wanted to update our readers on a few matters and ask for your help in an area or two.

If you follow us regularly you are aware that for now we "blog at will."  This means we may have posts almost daily during some periods, then have large gaps or bunches.  All of us enjoy the lack of deadlines yet want to have enough regularity to draw people daily.  So at least two other writers will be joining us next year, and I will be introducing them when they do.  I hope we can get to get to the right balance of authors and contributors where we can begin having daily weekday posts.

We are thankful for the free WordPress site we have been able to use to get started.  However, a free site has its limitations and some annoying features, such as the font size being a bit small or advertising that appears at the bottom that we cannot control and that often runs counter to our witness.  So we will be upgrading in the near future to a paid site so we can overcome some of these things.  So do not be surprised if one day our look is a bit different.  One day I tried a new bold theme for a couple of hours (perhaps you saw it?) and asked my fellow bloggers what they thought.  It looked like this cool blog. I was told in so many words by my friends that we would have to change the name to Grunge Reformation, so I returned to our current theme.  We are looking for something that has a cleaner look, a good deal of white-space, and is simple (like us!).  Let me know below or email me at PastorYork@juno.com if you have ideas.

One other way you can help us get the word out is simply by "liking" us on Facebook.  So though I feel a bit juvenile asking, would you please consider if you have a Facebook account pushing the "Like" button to the right if indeed you do?  If our goal as believers is to bring every thought captive to Christ, the internet shows we have a long battle ahead of us.  Any time we can bring godly thoughts to someone's wall takes us a step closer to that glorious end.  Thank you!
