/ John Piper New Calvinism / Gentle Reformation

Audio Picks

A few audio picks for your edification and enjoyment:

• Dr. John Piper, former Pastor for Preaching and Vision of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Minneapolis, MN, spoke at the seventh annual Gaffin Lecture on March 12, 2014. Dr. Piper's lecture was "The New Calvinism and the New Community: The Doctrines of Grace and the Meaning of Race." In many ways, it was a historical address. As such, it deserves special attention.

• For anyone interested in presuppositional apologetics, especially how the Westminster divines were profoundly sensitive to the subject of epistemology, do check out Dr. Scott Oliphint’s superb lecture, Inerrancy and Apologetics.

• For an interesting look into the early church document, The Didache, and its view of the Lord’s Supper, consider listening to The Ancient Church Observance of the Lord’s Supper at Christ the Center. As someone who enjoys reading the apostolic fathers, it ought to be stressed that while there is much in The Didache that is both fascinating and insightful, some of the doctrinal details presented in that manuscript are rather suspect. Glen Clary no doubt agrees. But I merely want to emphasize the point. You can read the document here.
