What would Jesus think of the Rainbow?

First, His eye would admire the radiant beauty and glory of the refracted spectral colors of light made by the Creator.

Second, His face would redden with righteous indignation at seeing the way this gracious covenant sign had been hijacked by LGBT.

I have set my bow in the cloud and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and the earth - Genesis 9:13.

Third, His heart would weep with incredulity for those racked by unbelief and terrorized by climatologists.

While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night shall not cease ...and the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh - Genesis 8:22, 9:15b.

Fourth, His mind would rejoice at happy prospects for Gospel preaching to every creature under heaven in this prolonged day of grace,

...not shifting from the hope of the gospel that you heard, which has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven - Colossians 1:23b.

Fifth, His tongue would bless the God of long-suffering mercy who has been patient with Noah's race and who delights and rejoices in life.

The LORD is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient towards you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance - 2 Peter 3:9.

Sixth, His soul would thank the Father who has been faithful to all His promises and whose Word can always be trusted.

And He who sat there had the appearance of jasper and carnelian, and round the throne was a rainbow that had the appearance of an emerald - Revelation 4:3.

Seventh, His memory would recall how God always remembered Him.

When I bring clouds over the earth and the bow is seen in the clouds, I will remember my covenant that is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh - Genesis 9:16.

Eighth, His knees and head would bow before the awesome, holy, angelic-praise-inspiring, majestic, sovereign, powerful, divine Lordship of Yahweh: that dominion which is being exercised everlastingly for the strength, salvation, joy and comfort of His Church - Psalm 29:10-11.

The LORD sits enthroned over the flood, the LORD sits enthrone as King forever. May the LORD give strength to His people! May the LORD bless His people with peace!

Ninth, His frame would shudder at the day when time will be no more - for that moment when God's patience is finally exhausted and earth, along with impenitent noahic descendants, is consumed in a bath of fire.

By that same word the heavens and earth that now exist are stored up for fire, being kept until the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly - 2 Peter 3:7.

Tenth, His longing would be revived for the new, pure, imperishable world, where He will assemble God's family to share His glory with His brethren.

But according to his promise we are waiting for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells - 2 Peter 3:13.

Eleventh, He would send His Holy Spirit forth, from the Throne of Grace, to grant mercy and help to encourage and sanctify needy saints.

Since all these things are thus to be dissolved, what sort of people ought you to be in lives of holiness and godliness - 2 Peter 3:11.

Are these the kind of thoughts that you have when you observe the specturm in the sky - perhaps it is because it is because God's grace has worked in you to produce the mind of Christ!
