3GT Episode 99: Shame, Boatloads of Shame

How are Christians to handle the shame they feel? The Avett Brothers sing,

Shame, boatloads of shame,
Day after day, more of the same.
Blame, please lift it off,
Please take it off, please make it stop.

Though shame is a God-given emotional response to our sins to draw us to Christ, many believers struggle with "boatloads of shame" and don't know how to make it stop. What do they do?

So the 3GTers tackle three types of shame Christians often suffer from. The "Silent Shame" where memories of past wrongs hang over believers even though they know Christ has forgiven them. The "Sexual Shame" of immorality so prevalent in the church today and which makes shame feel especially acute. And "Sanctification Shame" where believers, striving for holiness, still feel as if they fall short and are inadequate in the eyes of God. They seek to offer hope as shepherds of God's people to those who are burdened under the load of shame.

So if you are praying "please make it stop" and "need somebody's helping hand", listen to this episode of 3GT!
