Climate Carnage!

After a week of 'extinction rebel' protests, in which citizens glued themselves to trains, even the media outlets realize the London 'lunacy' went too far.

Actress Emma Thompson, the most vocal 'Queen-of-Protesters,' was an unwitting hypocrite, & keen for arrest, after her LA-London flight left a huge carbon footprint.

Perhaps the saddest blindness is the ignorance of Scripture - if only they would recall the harvest service chant that God gave a race that traces its ancestry to Noah:

While the earth remains, seed-time & harvest, summer & winter, day & night, shall not cease - Gen 8:22

They are deaf to a non-stop, loud, global, broadcast of glory, in their Maker's lingua franca (Psa 19:1): they mock His arch of mercy that trumpets its spectral promise:

When I bring clouds over the earth & the bow is seen in the clouds, I will remember my covenant that is between me and you & every living creature of all flesh. And the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh - Gen 9:14-15.

If it shocks that an unproven (unprovable) false prophecy of climatic doom should take many gullible people in, the Savior warned scoffers would soon suppress truth:

For they deliberately overlook this fact, that the heavens existed long ago, & the earth was formed out of water & through water by the Word of God, & that by means of these the world that then existed was deluged with water & perished. But by the same Word the heavens & earth that now exist are stored up for fire, being kept until the day of judgment & destruction of the ungodly - 2 Pet 3:2-7

Yet Peter's corrective sanity urges us to 'make Gospel hay while the sun of common grace shines': by sacrificial lives & authentic holiness, speed the Gospel Free Offer!

The Lord is not slow to fulfill His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient towards you, not wishing than any should perish, but that all should reach repentance - 2 Pet 3:9.

Time is running out - not for climate but the church! Sinners will burn if they do not learn & turn. Neither belching bovines nor spraying scent can thwart God's purpose.

Seychelles may sink & new atolls arise; forest may be felled & desertification spread; Greenland may have grass, just like before ice-caps; but no panic button is required.

Indeed fire, not gas or flood, & God's Gospel of free grace, should be the pressing focus of the 21st Century Church: for sure recycle plastic but also remember Noah!
