Love Your New Testament: Machen on Studying Scripture

In his excellent work, Selected Shorter Writings, J.G. Machen – founder of the OPC denomination as well as Westminster Theological Seminary – has a very helpful article on loving your Bible.

The essay is written to ministers and scholars but pertains equally well to laypersons in my view. Machen contends that many people have unfortunately pulled away from their concerted efforts to study the Bible (particularly the languages) because they have slowly become less and less interested in the actual contents of Scripture.
