Faint But Fervent - Psalm 142

Saints in deep, dire, distress should continually, repeatedly, and unceasingly, pour out their hearts to Yah our Refuge Rock.

1 A Maskil of David, when he was in the cave - A Prayer. With my voice I cry out to the LORD; with my voice I plead for mercy to the LORD. 2 I pour out my complaint before him; I tell my trouble before him. (Ps. 142:1-2)

He sees and knows when there is none to care for us, and that our soul is bereft of any other support or safe-house: was His providence not sent to fortify our faith?

3 When my spirit faints within me, you know my way! In the path where I walk they have hidden a trap for me. 4 Look to the right and see: there is none who takes notice of me; no refuge remains to me; no one cares for my soul. (Ps. 142:3-4)

He super-regards and cares when enemies set traps, or hunt us down in hot pursuit (in all places that they lurk - at home, school, work, minds or even church).

We may be in a gravely weakened, enfeebled, state, or hyper-triggered by stress and prone to constant fainting fits: still, our first, last and best resort is prayer!

5 I cry to you, O LORD; I say, "You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living." 6 Attend to my cry, for I am brought very low! Deliver me from my persecutors, for they are too strong for me! (Ps. 142:5-6)

But as our spirit languishes, and the sighs of His Spirit constantly go up, the One who searches hearts, observes our steps and path, to command deliverance.

Bring me out of prison, that I may give thanks to your name! The righteous will surround me, for you will deal bountifully with me. (Ps. 142:7)

When you jail-time is complete, it will be time to celebrate the LORD's abundant grace! So it was for Christ, when God delivered Him from death, so trust His help!
